You know how it’s an open secret that Teshirogi likes yaoi? xD Well, when Circe and I saw Sasha making this face at the time when Dohko and Shion talk about how incredibly close El Cid and Sisy are, we realized that this is the face every yaoi fangirl makes when daydreaming about their OTP.
Does Sasha ship El Cid/Sisy? Let’s go back in time and see if we can find some clues there. Apparently, it all started here:
She spied on Dégel and Kardia, who reminded her of Tenma and Alone (she probably ships them too)… and suddenly decided that the sanctuary was not that much of a bad place.
Later, she approached Kardia. When Kardia asked “Why did you grab my cape, who are you, why were you following me?”, she wouldn’t answer. She just blushed and made this face:
Let’s see this from a fangirl perspective. Most of fangirls would have done the same thing if they were in her place. What was she supposed to say? “You and your friend are so cute, I was spying on you and just OMG!!!!!!!”?. It makes sense that she wouldn’t want to answer.
BTW, I guess that Kardia and Dégel must get really lost in their own world when sharing time together, because they didn’t notice at all that someone was spying on them. That’s dangerous, boys.
Anyway. Last but not least, when Sasha returned to the sanctuary, she wanted to introduce herself as a goddess to Dégel and Kardia. Dégel and Kardia only. Only the two of them. Together. Because apparently, there weren’t any other Gold Saints present at that introductory meeting. Sisy seems to have stayed outside.
So what? Did the others know she was Athena? All of them? What if she did what any other fangirl would have done? I would have summoned my favorite Gold couple too. I see what you did there, Sasha!
That’s how the Kardia Gaiden can be read as the story of a fangirl discovering and accepting that she likes BL.
